UFC commentator Joe Rogan reported that UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira of Brazil may make his heavyweight division debut in a fight against Frenchman Ciryl Gane.

There’s a lot of chatter about him fighting in the heavyweight division. There’s a lot of chatter about him perhaps even fighting Ciryl Gane. I don’t know how much is true — I haven’t talked to Dana about it. But it’s not an illogical move. Make no mistake about it, that guy can knock out heavyweights. No doubt about it.
Pereira last entered the Octagon in October 2025 at UFC 320, securing a victory over Magomed Ankalaev via first-round technical knockout. His record includes 13 wins and three losses.
