Former two-time UFC title challenger and current analyst Chael Sonnen responded to Ronda Rousey’s recent criticism of fans regarding their treatment of her after she left the sport.
Chael Sonnen on his YouTube channel
Nobody has any opinion or love for you or hatred for you, whatsoever. That’s always been a part that I never felt she understood. It’s not personal, and they don’t really not like you. The part that you had wrong is when you thought that they were with you and they loved you. They were never with you and they never loved you, and there’s nothing mean about that. It’s called being a fan.
Rousey last competed in the Octagon in December 2016 at UFC 207, where she faced Brazilian Amanda Nunes. That bout was stopped in the first round, resulting in a technical knockout loss for Ronda.
Rousey made her MMA debut in March 2011 at a King of the Cage (KOTC) event, facing Brazil’s Ediane Gomes. She won that fight via submission in the first round. Her professional MMA record stands at 12 wins and two losses.
