Former UFC featherweight Champion Ilia Topuria has announced that he will compete at UFC 317, set to take place overnight on June 29 in Las Vegas, USA.
Topuria said in a video message to the people of Madrid after receiving a state award:
I am very sorry for not being able to be there with you. But I've got training ahead of me and I hope to make you all happy again on 28 June. Have a great time.
Topuria's last fight was against Max Holloway in October 2024 at UFC 308. Topuria won that fight by knockout in the third round. He currently has 16 wins and no losses.
Topuria made his UFC debut in October 2020 against American fighter Youssef Zalal. The fight went the distance and ended with a unanimous decision victory for Topuria.
