UFC President Dana White stated that the organization has not yet decided on plans for lightweight champion Ilia Topuria. Although earlier reports suggested Ilia might face Paddy Pimblett in January 2026 at UFC 324.

The 28-year-old Topuria last fought Charles Oliveira in June this year at UFC 317. In that fight, Ilia won by knockout in the first round and claimed the UFC lightweight title. His record is 17 wins and zero losses.
The 30-year-old Pimblett most recently stepped into the octagon against Michael Chandler in April this year at UFC 314. That fight ended in Paddy’s favor by technical knockout in the third round. His record is 23 wins and three losses.
