UFC middleweight champion Dricus du Plessis has confirmed that his fight against Khamzat Chimaev will take place this year.

We have a potential of two dates. I already agreed to both. The announcement will be made soon. It’s gonna be happening in the next couple of months, maximum four months. Nothing’s signed, but I’ve already agreed to any date.
Du Plessis last fought in February 2025 at UFC 312, where he won a unanimous decision against Sean Strickland, bringing his record to 23 wins and 2 losses.
Chimaev’s last appearance in the octagon was in October 2024 at UFC 308, where he submitted Robert Whittaker in the first round, maintaining an undefeated record of 14 wins.
