Former UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev has revealed that he requested Dana White to arrange a fight against Jack Della Maddalena in New York City.

I asked Dana [White] if we have an opportunity to fight in Madison Square Garden. It will be [an] honor for me [to] fight in the biggest arena for MMA and Boxing.
Maddalena last fought against Belal Muhammad in May of this year at UFC 315, winning by unanimous decision and claiming the UFC welterweight championship. He currently holds a record of 18 wins and 2 losses.
Makhachev's most recent appearance in the octagon was against Renato Moicano in January at UFC 311, where he secured a victory via submission in the first round, defending his lightweight title. He boasts a professional record of 27 wins and 1 loss.
