UFC CEO Dana White announced the promotion will pay $700,000 just for damage caused to the South Lawn of the White House due to the installation of the octagon.
Dana White for Sports Business Journal
There is no doubt about it, this is going to be the most challenging event we have ever done. To replace the grass, because we’re going to f*k up the South Lawn, $700,000 just to replace the grass.
The UFC event at the White House, celebrating America's 250th anniversary, will probably take place at the end of June rather than on July 4.
US President Donald Trump estimated 20,000-25,000 people would attend, though White expects the number closer to 5,000.
