Former UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez has revealed that promotion head Dana White bailed him out to the tune of one million dollars when he was incarcerated in 2022.
I don’t know if he gave out a statement or something beforehand when I was locked up and also he did pay my bail as well. So they are helping.
Velasquez was arrested in February 2022 after an incident involving Harry Goularte, a man he suspected of molesting his young son. The former UFC fighter gave chase down a highway, pursuing Goularte in his pickup truck while opening fire on his vehicle with a firearm.
Although Goularte was not injured, one of the bullets wounded his stepfather. Velasquez was soon apprehended and charged with multiple offenses. It wasn't until November 2022 that the court ordered the athlete released on bail.
But in March 2025, the Santa Clara County Court found Cain Velasquez guilty and sentenced him to five years in prison.
