The Australian UFC featherweight champion Alex Volkanovski was named the best fighter of the year 2022.
It was announced by the promotion's press service on social media.
On February 12, 2023, in Perth, Australia, Volkanovski will fight the lightweight champion Islam Makhachev at UFC 284.
Volkanovski, 34, last fought Max Holloway at UFC 276 in July of this year. That fight ended with Volkanovski winning by unanimous decision. He has 25 wins and one loss to his record.
