ACA vice president Aslanbek Badaev, in an exclusive interview with Telecomasia.net, explained why the Russian league did not initiate legal action against Iranian fighter Puya Rahmani, who violated his contract.
Aslanbek Badaev exclusively for Telecom Asia Sport
We understand the current realities. The PFL is based in North America, and the legal proceedings would take place in the USA. It would take a lot of time. We are realistic. Rahmani, on the other hand, lives in Dubai. There are means to influence him. We don’t believe the court will side with us in this situation, although there is room for doubt – we are obviously right. This is also what Mike Kogan says, while pretending to be unaware of the contract’s existence. It’s just ridiculous. He knows very well that the agreement exists. And there is also Ali Abdelaziz, who acts as if it’s none of his business.
Recall that despite having an active contract with ACA, Iranian Puya Rahmani signed with PFL, claiming he had no obligations with the Russian promotion. Meanwhile, the athlete’s representatives and the American league have allegedly feigned ignorance of the full situation.
