UFC CEO Dana White addressed former two-division champion Conor McGregor’s statement that he already signed a contract for a fight at the White House.
White said at a press conference:
We are still talking about the production and how everything is going to work at the White House. We have not started negotiating any fights for the White House yet, that won't start until February. Conor wants to fight on that card, and you can clearly see Conor is very fired up to fight on that card. But nothing is done yet, and no fights are being negotiated with the White House.
The UFC event at the White House, celebrating America’s 250th anniversary, will probably happen at the end of June rather than July 4. Former President Donald Trump anticipates attendance between 20,000 and 25,000 people, but White expects closer to 5,000.
Conor McGregor last fought in July 2021 at UFC 264, losing to Dustin Poirier by first-round TKO due to a leg injury. McGregor’s record is 22 wins and 6 losses.
