We should see a third fight right now, because perhaps Merab wasn't 100% ready. A trilogy is the only way to know the truth. But Petr defeated him. Maybe Merab won one round. Yan won 49-46. He deserved it. That is a very, very good win for him. Congratulations to Russia. And, man, that just shows what kind of fighters represent Russia.
On December 7 in Las Vegas, USA, in the main event of UFC 323, Yan defeated Dvalishvili by unanimous decision and won the championship belt. The fighters' first meeting, held in March 2023 at UFC Fight Night 221, ended in Merab's victory by unanimous decision. He has a record of 21 wins and five losses. Yan has 20 wins and five losses.
