19-Year-Old Cyclist Dies in Fall at Italian Race

A tragic incident occurred during the first stage of the Italian cycling race Giro Della Valle d'Aosta, where 19-year-old Italian cyclist Samuele Privitera fell off the course and suffered fatal injuries.

Privitera was just 19 years old, and participants in this event are under 23. The accident took place in the municipality of Poncey, located in the Aosta Valley region. The reasons behind the disaster remain unclear.

Following this tragedy the second stage of the race has been called off by the organizers. The third stage is scheduled for July 18 and will begin with a moment of silence in memory of the deceased. Additionally, all ceremonial events related to awarding stage winners have been canceled.
