3-Year-Old Indian Player Sets Record as Youngest to Earn a FIDE Rating

The youngest chess player ever included on the International Chess Federation (FIDE) list is Indian Sarwagya Singh Kushwaha. At that moment, his age was 3 years, 7 months, and 20 days. ETV Bharat reports this news.

Kushwaha is ranked 1572nd in the FIDE rating. To achieve an international rating, a player must defeat at least one already FIDE-rated chess player.

The previous record was held by another Indian, Anish Sarkar, who was included in the rating at the age of 3 years, 8 months, and 19 days.
