U.S. track athlete Sha'Carri Richardson, the 2024 Olympic champion and world champion, has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting her boyfriend, runner Christian Coleman. This was reported by AP News.
The incident occurred at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. An airport employee received information about a conflict between Richardson and Coleman from the head of security.
Upon reviewing surveillance footage, police observed Richardson grabbing Coleman's backpack, yanking it away, blocking his path, pinning him against a wall, and throwing an object at him, believed to be headphones.
The 25-year-old athlete was arrested on July 27 and released the next day.
It's worth noting that in July 2020, Richardson was banned from competing at the Tokyo Games due to a positive cannabis test.
