According to Swedish outlet Expressen, on November 3, while en route to a preseason training camp in Stelvio, Italy, a vehicle carrying members of Sweden’s national ski cross team was involved in an accident.
Team staff member David Moeberg stated that one of the cars lost traction on the mountain road, skidded, and rolled over on a hairpin turn. Italian authorities later determined that slippery road conditions and adverse weather were the primary causes of the crash.
Fortunately, none of the skiers sustained injuries. It was noted that the incident will not affect the Swedish team’s preparations for the upcoming ski cross World Cup stage scheduled for December 11 in Val Thorens, France.
