Dahlmeier's Climbing Partner Speaks Out: She Could Be Alive If We Passed Earlier

Marina Krauss, climber and partner of Laura Dahlmeier in rock climbing, stated that the biathlete could have survived if they had chosen to continue their ascent instead of turning back due to potential dangers.

If we had started 30 minutes earlier, we would both be safe and sound.

Dahlmeier, a two-time Olympic champion, seven-time World Championship winner, and the holder of the World Cup title in the 2016/17 season, tragically lost her life at the age of 31.

The accident took place on Monday, July 28, when she was caught in a rockfall while climbing Laila Peak in the Karakoram mountain range in Pakistan. The injuries she sustained were fatal.
