Five-time Olympic champion Martin Fourcade has expressed his condolences following the tragic news of Laura Dahlmeier's death.

The 31-year-old two-time Olympic champion from Germany died on July 28 while climbing Laila Peak in Karakoram, falling victim to a rockslide. Her death became known on July 30.

Dahlmeier retired from sports in 2019. Throughout her biathlon career, she claimed two Olympic gold medals, seven world championship titles, and won the overall World Cup standings in the 2016/17 season.
