Iranian Volleyball Player Diagnosed With Brain Death After Electric Shock in a Hotel Pool

Iranian opposite hitter Saber Kazemi of the Al-Rayyan volleyball club (Qatar), according to the Telegram channel “Volleyball LIVE,” citing the Iranian Volleyball Federation, has been declared brain dead.

It is emphasized that life support machines have not yet been turned off, and doctors continue to monitor his condition. The tragic incident with Kazemi was reported in mid-October. It was then stated that he suffered a severe electric shock in a hotel pool in Qatar. After his heart stopped, the athlete briefly regained consciousness before falling into a coma.

Saber Kazemi began playing for the Qatari team in 2025. With the Iranian national team, he won the Asian Championship title and twice became a winner of the Asian Games.
