Israel‑Premier Tech to Change Name to IPT After Protests At La Vuelta

The Israel‑Premier Tech cycling team will officially compete under the shortened name IPT. Marca reports the change is linked to protests against the Israeli team.

According to the outlet, team management asked La Vuelta organizers to remove the word Israel from any mentions during the race.

Earlier, stage 16 of the race was stopped three kilometers from the finish because protesters blocked the road and demanded Israel‑Premier Tech be excluded. Organizers later decided to significantly shorten the distance of stage 18.
