
Biathlete Julia Simon is suspected of stealing from her French national team partners after being sentenced to probation for credit card fraud.
According to L’Equipe, sisters Anaïs and Chloé Chevalier noticed missing personal items and a 50-euro bill. Caroline Colombo also reported missing cash of an unspecified amount. Lou Jeanmonnot found her personal belongings gone while sharing a room with Simon. None of the athletes reported the thefts to the police, the source says.
Julia was sentenced to three months of probation and fined 15,000 euros for theft and credit card fraud involving Justine Braisaz-Bouchet and another French team athlete.
Simon has won 10 gold medals at Biathlon World Championships and finished first overall in the World Cup standings. She also earned a silver medal at the 2022 Winter Olympics.
The 2025-26 Biathlon World Cup will take place from November 29 to March 22 across Sweden, Austria, France, Germany, the Czech Republic, Italy, Finland, Estonia, and Norway.
