The Korea Skating Union (KSU) has lifted the disqualification of figure skaters Lee Hae-in and Yoг Young, who were previously suspended from competitions due to allegations of sexual harassment. This report comes from the Yonhap News Agency.
It was revealed that during the national team training camp in Italy in May 2024, the athletes broke team discipline by consuming alcohol and being involved in an incident with a junior male skater.
Lee Hae-in faced accusations of sexual misconduct for allegedly inviting the young male figure skater to the women's dormitory and attempting to have intimacy. She denied the allegation and said they were in a relationship. You Young was accused of taking explicit photos of Lee and showing them to the same male athlete. After an investigation, Lee Hae-in was disqualified for three years and You Young was disqualified for one year.
Both athletes appealed against the sanctions. In November 2024, the court temporarily lifted the disqualification decision on Lee Hae-in, and in March 2025, the court made a similar decision on You Young. According to the KSU, their competition bans have now been officially lifted.
