Four-time Olympic champion and 14-time world champion cross-country skier Therese Johaug commented on the end of her sporting career.

I am very happy that I made this decision because at the moment I finished, I wasn’t mentally ready. But now I feel fulfilled. Now I’m done. Now I will be a mom 100%.
It had previously been reported that Johaug did not win any gold medals at the World Championships. The skier also announced that she will miss the 2026 Olympic Games.
