Kyle Snyder, the 2016 Olympic champion and famous American freestyle wrestler, was arrested last week as part of a prostitution sting operation.
According to the Columbus, Ohio police, Snyder was one of 16 men detained on May 9 at a local hotel.
As part of the operation, police posted online advertisements offering escort services and then used the responses to arrange arrests. Snyder contacted the number listed in the ad and set up a meeting. Upon arriving at the location, Snyder paid an undercover officer in cash and was arrested, but he was later released and is scheduled to appear in court on May 19.
Previously, Snyder had signed a contract to participate in the new promotion Real American Freestyle, which was launched by WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan and former WWE executive Eric Bischoff.
