
The Olympic flame has been officially lit in Ancient Olympia, one of the largest sanctuaries of Ancient Greece in the Peloponnese, 72 days before the opening ceremony of the 2026 Winter Olympic Games.
The ceremonial event took place at the Archaeological Museum, kicking off the Olympic torch relay around the world. The route will cover nearly 12,000 kilometers, and more than ten thousand people will participate in the relay.
Recall that the 25th Winter Olympics in 2026 will be held from February 6 to 22 in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy.
