Norwegian biathlete Juni Arnekleiv, 26, the partner of two-time Youth Olympic champion Sivert Bakken, reacted to her boyfriend's death on social media.

On December 23, the Norwegian Biathlon Association's press service announced that 27-year-old Bakken had been found dead in his hotel room at the Val di Fiemme ski resort in Italy. The cause of death remains unknown, and police are working to establish the circumstances of the tragedy. Condolences to Bakken's family and friends were previously expressed by IBU President Olle Dahlin.
