Quinn "Quinn" Callahan, the American Dota 2 midlaner for Gaimin Gladiators, was supposed to leave the team after The International 2025. According to Telecomasia.net, the player had already received an invitation to trials from a tier‑1 European organization long before GG announced their withdrawal from the tournament.
Representatives of Gaimin Gladiators were aware of the situation and had begun working on building a new roster after The International 2025. That process is now paused because of the scandal surrounding the organization.
Gaimin Gladiators roster:
- Alimzhan "watson" Islambekov;
- Quinn "Quinn" Callahan;
- Marcus "Ace" Hoelgaard;
- Erik "tOfu" Engel;
- Arman "Malady" Orazbayev
On the evening of August 22 it became known that Gaimin Gladiators refused to participate in The International 2025. Tournament organizer PGL and Valve said they had communicated directly with the team and the invited players. GG later stated their decision was the result of roster problems. The players had long debated under which tag to compete and were not ready to pursue success at The International.
Before the scandal, Gaimin Gladiators left FISSURE Universe: Episode 6, finishing 7–8th alongside Team Tidebound. The final map was decided in a record 13 minutes 7 seconds.
The International 2025 will be held September 4–14 in Hamburg, Germany. It is not yet known who will replace Gaimin Gladiators. Rumors say OG may take their spot.
