Jason Lake, owner of the professional esports organization Complexity Gaming, shared his thoughts with Telecomasia.net about the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 and the competitiveness of the North American scene.
Jason believes that the BLAST.tv Austin Major was a sensational event, as it was the first major held in the U.S. since 2018’s ELEAGUE Major.
I think BLAST Austin Major was a fantastic event. It was amazing to see the best players in the world compete again in front of a local American audience. I had a great time.
The CEO of Complexity noted that Team Vitality has established an era of dominance with their unbeaten streak and seven tournament victories.
Despite some one-sided evaluations, I think the final was excellent. Vitality asserted their dominance, while The Mongolz proved they are a young and strong team with a dedicated fanbase. Congratulations to both for their outstanding performances.
The BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 was a significant tournament for the American scene, although they didn’t fully shine. Jason pointed out that while the scene may be shrinking, America still loves Counter-Strike.
Northern American CS is still recovering, and we have a long way to go. Our talent pool has been affected by Valorant, and our scene needs to improve to be competitive on an international level. However, our fans have shown that America still loves Counter-Strike, and we won’t stop striving for the top.
The BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 took place in Austin, Texas, from June 3 to June 22. The tournament featured three group stages and playoffs, with a prize pool of $1.25 million.
