WADA Asks Governments for Additional Funding to Fight Doping

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has appealed to national governments to increase contributions for scientific research into anti-doping measures.

In May 2025 WADA announced that Qatar’s Ministry of Sports and Youth made an additional contribution of $1.5 million to support such research.

WADA President Witold Bańka
WADA invites all Governments to consider making an additional contribution for scientific research that will help us make more significant strides in strengthening the global anti-doping system.

Bańka emphasized that these extra funds would strengthen the global anti-doping system, boost resources and innovation, and help hold violators more effectively accountable.
