After a goalless first half, Napoli stormed into the contest and posted two goals within a space of ten minutes to claim victory in their first game of the Italian Serie A. Napoli played with a ten-men attack for 70+ minutes in the game as the twenty-second minute mark, Victor Omishen got shown a red card for “violent conduct” after an aggressive foul.

The first ended up with no goal and a bunch of yellow cards got shown to Venezia FC as well. In the second half, Napoli could have gone up one-nil but Lorenzo Insigne missed a penalty he got after a hand ball by Mattia Caldara of Venezia. However, Venezia kept committing mistakes and silly fouls as another hand ball by Pietro Ceccaroni put Napoli in a position to go one-up and the team did so after Lorenzo Insigne didn’t miss out on the second time and nailed the penalty. After ten minutes, Eljif Elmas nailed another goal as his right footed shot from the centre of the box found the net on the bottom left corner.
