Current world No. 1 and silver medalist at the 2024 Olympics, Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz commented on his performance in the ongoing ATP 2025 season.
In the 2025 ATP tour, Alcaraz won two Grand Slam titles, capturing the Roland Garros and US Open trophies, both times defeating his closest rival, world No. 2 Italian Jannik Sinner. Additionally, the Spaniard reached the Australian Open quarterfinals and lost in the Wimbledon final.
Carlos Alcaraz said on a press conference
This is the best season I’ve ever had. I’ve achieved great things, played excellent tennis, and competed in some very good matches. I’ve also grown a lot as a player on court. Of course, the year could always be better, but I can’t complain about the season I’m having so far.
On September 6, in an interview with The Tennis Letter, Serbian tennis player, world No. 4 and 2024 Olympic champion Novak Djokovic admitted he can no longer compete evenly with Alcaraz and Sinner. Notably, Alcaraz now holds six Grand Slam victories, while Djokovic has 24.
