Chinese Tennis Player Banned for 12 Years for Match-Fixing

Chinese tennis player Pang Renlong, ranked 1,316th in the ATP standings, has been banned for 12 years for organizing match-fixing, according to the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA).

The athlete was charged with organizing or attempting to organize 22 fixed matches between May and September 2024. Renlong admitted to intentionally losing matches at professional ITF and Challenger tournaments and attempting to bribe other players (17 incidents). The player waived his right to a hearing before an independent anti-corruption official.

In addition to the lengthy suspension, which concludes on November 6, 2036, Renlong was fined $110,000, with $77,000 of that amount suspended. On December 11, the ITIA reported a 20-year ban for French player Quentin Folliot for 27 breaches of the Tennis Anti-Corruption Program.
