The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) has announced that four tennis players have been suspended for participating in match-fixing.
Thai player Natthasith Kunsuwan has received the longest ban, 12 years, after admitting to taking part in 39 fixed matches between 2022 and 2024.
Swedish player Christian Lindell, who played in four fixed matches and was linked to a Belgian criminal syndicate involved in organizing such events, has been banned for seven years. French player Jaimee Floyd Angele, who organized a fixed match for a reward and destroyed evidence of his involvement, will be unable to compete on the world stage for five years. His fellow countryman, Samuel Bensussan, received a one-year and 11-month suspension for his connections to the syndicate.
On April 19, the ITIA announced plans to introduce a new measure to their anti-doping program: athletes taking post-match showers must do it under the supervision of an accompanying official.
