French tennis player Gael Monfils, currently ranked 53rd in the world, announced on social media that he will retire from professional tennis in 2026.

Now, after celebrating my 39th birthday just a month ago, I'd like to share that the year ahead will be my last as a professional tennis player.
Monfils is a two-time Grand Slam semifinalist in singles, winner of 13 ATP singles titles, and a former world No. 6 in singles. He is also a two-time Davis Cup finalist representing France.
