German Tennis Player Disqualified for Taking a Shower During Match Break

German tennis player Mats Rosenkranz was removed from a Challenger event in Hersonissos, Greece, after he left the court during a match break to take a shower while playing Italy’s Pietro Fellin.

Rosenkranz, who won the first set 7–5, said he did not know it was forbidden. After the referee and a supervisor intervened, the player was disqualified and his opponent automatically advanced to the next round.

The 26-year-old German is ranked 358 in the ATP and has not yet won a title at events organized under the ATP.
