World No. 2 Jannik Sinner will not represent Italy in the 2025 Davis Cup Final 8, according to the Italian Tennis and Padel Federation (FITP).
Italy’s captain Filippo Volandri said the team can count on many players at the tournament, but the world No. 2 is not among them.
Sinner has not given his availability for 2025. The Davis Cup is, and will always remain, his home and I am sure that Jannik will soon return to be part of the team.
The 2025 Davis Cup final stage with eight teams will be held in Bologna from November 18 to 23.
Earlier, Jannik received a golden racket worth €250,000 for defeating world No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz at the Six Kings Slam exhibition tournament (6-2, 6-4). This season, the Italian has won three tournaments, including Wimbledon and the Australian Open.
Currently, Sinner is the world No. 2 with 10,000 points. Alcaraz leads the ranking with 11,340 points, and Alexander Zverev is third with 5,930 points.
