On September 6, Sabalenka beat American Amanda Anisimova 6–3, 7–6 (7–3). The trophy was the 21st in her career.

On September 7, Alcaraz defeated Italy’s Jannik Sinner 6–2, 3–6, 6–1, 6–4 in the US Open final and displaced him from the top of the rankings. The title was the 23rd for the Spaniard.
