Vacherot Becomes Lowest-Ranked Masters Finalist in History

Monegasque tennis player Valentin Vacherot, ranked 204th in the ATP world rankings, achieved historic success by reaching the final of the Masters tournament in Shanghai, China.

In the semifinals, the 26-year-old player sensationally defeated 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic with a score of 6-3, 6-4.

Vacherot became the lowest-ranked Masters finalist since the series began in 1990. Previously, the record was held by Romanian Andrei Pavel, ranked 191st. The lowest-ranked player to win a Masters title remains Croatian Borna Coric, who won the tournament while ranked 152nd in the world.
