Wimbledon Finalist Matteo Berrettini Withdraws From US Open 2025

According to journalist Giovanni Pelazzo, Matteo Berrettini will not take part in the US Open 2025.

The 29-year-old had earlier withdrawn from tournaments in Toronto and Cincinnati. The last time the player ranked 59th in the world appeared on court was June 30, when he lost in the first round at Wimbledon to Poland’s Kamil Majchrzak (6-4, 2-6, 4-6, 7-5, 3-6).

The US Open is scheduled to run from August 24 to September 9. Another Italian, Jannik Sinner, won the tournament in 2024.

Berrettini reached the Wimbledon final in 2021, where he lost to Serbia’s Novak Djokovic.
