Virgil Van Dijk extends Liverpool contract till 2025

Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk has extended his contract with Liverpool till 2025, previously the contract ran up to 2023. Earlier, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Fabinho, and Alisson Becker also signed new deals with Liverpool. 30-year-old Virgil has played 8 seasons in the English Premier League and has made appearances for Liverpool since the 2017-2018 season after playing for 3 seasons with Southampton.

The Dutch defender has managed 162 appearances in the English Premier League. His tackle percentage measures up to 70% and he has made 1.15 tackles per game. He has also tucked up 5.72 clearances per game while his interceptions have amounted to 1.74 per game. Overall, the premier defensive player has notched 61 clean sheets. Virgil played in just five games last season owing to an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
