Yulimar Rojas clinches Olympics Gold in women's triple jump

Yulimar Rojas has claimed the first Gold medal for Venezuela in this year’s Olympics. She achieved the medal in women’s triple jump covering a distance of 15.67m. Rojas also became the first Venezualan woman to achieve an Olympics Gold.

Yulimar’s 15.67m jump is a world record in women’s triple jump as she surpassed Inessa Kravets, who set the record at 15.50m in 1995. Patricia Mamona from Portugal won the silver medal covering a distance of 15.01m while the bronze medal went to Ana Peleteiro from Spain.
