Today’s accumulator tip spans across the UEFA Champions League Women's category. Matchday 3 of the Group stage features Barcelona Femeni against Oud-Heverlee Leuven Women, Bayern Munich Women against Arsenal Women, and SL Benfica Women against FC Twente Women.

For the first time in history, Barcelona’s Femeni will play against Oud Heverlee’s Red Flames, this time at the Estadi Johan Cruyff, as the third matchday of the UEFA Women's tournament gets underway. The two sides have yet to record a loss in the first two rounds, with the hosts securing a winning brace and a stalemate for the guests in the first round.

The hosting outfit had a perfect start to the tournament, with a 7-1 victory over their German visitors, Bayern Munich. They traveled to Italy for the second-round fixture against AS Roma, who were defeated at home by a 4-0 scoreline, giving them a perfect winning run so far.

The Belgian visitors began their league run on the road, taking a point from their opening away 2-2 stalemate against Paris FC Women, before securing victory in front of familiar faces in the second-round game against FC Twente Women.

I do not see much of a contest here, as my bias in favour of the Spanish Catalans is huge. The job should be decently done in the first half, and at least six goals to wrap up the contest.

Bayern Munich Women are paired against Arsenal Women ahead of the third matchday of the UEFA Champions League. In six meetings between the sides, the Germans have won four times, while the English women have two wins.

Bayern Munich’s stellar season record was soiled in the UEFA Champions League opener, with an unbelievable 7-1 victory in the away match against FC Barcelona Femeni. They took the loss, dusted themselves off, and came back stronger against Juventus, their next opponents in the subsequent 2-1 win. In the game, Bayern Munich women opened the scoring in the eleventh minute, but the opposition doused their euphoria six minutes later, equalising the scoreline in the seventeenth minute. The winner came in the 94th minute, with Lea Schuller finding the net to foster a 2-1 victory.

Arsenal women were unfortunate against Lyon in the first round, a bit lucky as their lackluster performance warranted a much wider-range defeat. The 2-1 loss fueled their motive for victory in the next match against their Portuguese counterparts, SL Benfica women, in the full-time 2-0 victory, marking their first three points in the tournament.

In this game, I’m also considering three goals (at least), given that the only certainty these teams have provided in their last two matches is goals, not victories.

Benfica Women and Twente Women will each strive for their first tournament victory in the third round, having failed to be victorious in the first two rounds. The two sides have met four times, with three wins for Benfica women and one stalemate between the sides.

The Eagles of Benfica faced the icy pangs of loss in the tournament opener against Juventus women, failing in the eventual 2-1 full-time scoreline that worsened in the subsequent game against Arsenal women in round 2, where home-field advantage mattered little as the visitors gave them handy lessons in the final 2-0 scoreline.

Twente Women launched the tournament with a solitary goal stalemate against Chelsea Women in a game that saw the first half end goalless. Danique Van Ginkel opened the scoring eighteen minutes after the first half whistle, a goal that changed the tempo of the game before pressure in their box made them commit a foul, which gave a penalty to the Blues, who converted into an equaliser, ending the game with a point apiece, and a 1-1 scoreline. The subsequent game against Oud Heverlee Leuven saw them also break the inertia, this time six minutes before halftime. The second half, however, launched with a different twist, with the first half victors ending the game as trailers, having conceded two goals in the 82nd and 95th minutes.

I’m betting on an O2.5 here. Benfica has not lost against Twente before, and Twente has scored first in their last two games. Hopefully, there will not be goal disappointment from either side.
