The weekend is upon us, and many leagues around the world are getting set for another season of footballing action. This week, we will be looking at the just-commenced Czech Republic league, where Bohemians will take on arch-rivals Slavia Prague in matchday two. Brommapojkarna and Malmö will go head-to-head while Malmö prepares for a Champions League qualification game in the midweek. And finally, Aluminij will take on defending champions Olimpija Ljubljana. Bohemians vs Slavia Prague

A fiery Vrsovice derby at Dolicek Stadium this Saturday as Bohemians Praha 1905, sitting 4th in the just commenced league, take on cross-town rivals and reigning league champions SK Slavia Praha, who had a hard start to the league season. A lot is on the line in this Prague showdown, with all the top five teams level on points. Bohemians head into this game with a buzz after a 1-0 deserved win over Banik Ostrava in the opening game of the season. Slavia, however, stumbled to a 2-2 draw against Hradec Kralove in their opening game, which has now left them at 9th place in the league. 

This is the first of two league clashes this season, but it’s important to note that Slavia has dominated Bohemian recently, winning their last 10 meetings and maintaining an unbeaten record in their last 12 meetings. Bohemian will aim for an upset, but Slavia’s firepower and their knack for their first win of the season will overshadow Bohemians' will.

Brommapojkarna is also in good shape and cannot be underestimated. Let’s also not forget that Brommapojkarna won the first leg encounter by a 1-2 scoreline, and Malmö cannot afford to lose to Brommapojkarna for the second time in a row. Our prediction for this game will be on the goals, with a total of over 2.5 goals scored in their last 8 meetings, we should expect a similar outcome here.

Aluminij vs Olimpija Ljubljana

Aluminij is riding high in second position with 3 points, facing off against reigning champions Olimpija Ljubljana, sitting in 4th with a point. Aluminij kicked off their 2025/26 campaign with a thrilling 2-1 comeback win over Radomlje, showing their resilience away from home. Olimpija, meanwhile, also secured a narrow 1-0 victory against NŠ Mura. Olimpija is also in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers, where they will take on Inter in the return leg of their playoff on Tuesday. This is the first of two league clashes this season, but Olimpija’s got the upper hand historically, crushing Aluminij 5-0 in their last meeting and remaining unbeaten in their last 7 encounters. Olimpija is our favorite for the win, and we believe they will get it.
