No matter how unpredictable some games have recently turned out, our love for the beautiful game continues to blossom. Chelsea FC recently defeated Benfica in the Club World Club, to the astonishment of the general populace who expected more of a dogfight from a team that qualified with many honors, and flying colours.

With the Club World Cup Round of 16 pushing to a quick close, Serie A side Inter Milan receive hostilities from Brazilian side Fluminense. SK Brann will lock horns with Sandefjord in the Norwegian League and Mjallby Aif will cast the die against Malmo FF in the Swedish League.

In this competition, Fluminense has left everyone thunderstruck, leaving very little trace in what seems to be a very impressive campaign so far. Inter Milan, previous runner-ups of the UEFA Champions League and arguably the best team in Europe will be put to the test again, as they lay out all the cards against a very solid opponent. 

Inter suffered a barbaric encounter with Argentine domiciles River Plate in the explosive 2-nil contest that saw them play a stalemate in the first forty five minutes. The game highlighted the ending fracas between Dumfires and Acuna, and Alessandro Bastoni’s brilliance both defensively and on the offense.

Fluminense has also put up a solid front, winning when it matters and holding refuge in a tie when victory seems unattainable. Unable to defeat Borussia Dortmund in the 0-0 affair, they pushed a 4-2 victory in the subsequent six goal thriller against Korean locales Ulsan Hyundai, marking the end of their run in the tournament. Against South African side Mamelodi Sundowns, they settled for another goalless tie. 

This will be the very first meeting between the sides, and so a lot of care will be taken for both sides not to make rash choices at this unforgiving stage of the tournament.

My bet would be victory for Inter Milan in this game, due to Inter’s star-studded midfield. They also have Sommer’s brilliance to fall back to in extreme cases.

SK Brann vs Sandefjord

The Norwegian league is one of the leagues in Europe that people sleep on, basically because of the low exposure. However, when it comes to goal scoring, not many match up. 

SK Brann will play against Sandefjord at the Malmo FF Stadium, Bergen for another exclusive league Round 11 proceeding. Last week's away game against Bodö/Glimt didn’t go as planned, with three first half 3-0 disadvantages pretty much dictating the game. Malmo FF has been decent at home, losing only to Molde in the last five home appearances

Sandefjord rose from the 3-2 loss against Byrne Fk to a subsequent 4-0 dustup against Haugesund in the next fixture. On the road, they have not been great, conceding in the last three home games, and the 0-4 Club Friendlies match against Fredrikstad. As such, we know they will concede goals since their defenses are not great at the moment. 

However high the tides of the match rise, we are confident of at least three goals, irrespective of the combination sequence.

Mjallby AIF vs Malmo FF

Leaders of the Swedish Allsvenskan Mjällby AIF, unbeaten in eight of their recent nine league pairings, will welcome fierceness from fifth placed Malmo FF, whose season has been filled with upheavals, with unprecedented outcomes evident in their full time outcomes. 

Last week's 3-0 victory over Hacken was a good way to return from the Svenska Cup exit following the 4-2 penalty shootout after a nil-nil full time hassle. On the road, they have not pushed a confident narrative, with two losses, one stalemate and a win in the last four games.

The hosts have championed scoring at home, with a running streak in the last four home games where they have registered at least a goal.

I’m considering a barrage of goals here. The BTTS and the O2.5 goal option should be ideal. However, I will pick the O2.5 choice.
