Anadolu Efes vs Fenerbahce Prediction: A draw is unlikely

Anadolu Efes

The team went through all previous playoff stages without a loss. The allowed five foreigners remained practically unchanged - only in one game out of five, Pliass replaced Oturu. The other four were Larkin, Clyburn, Beaubois and Willis. 

Only once (in the semifinals) did Efes score a modest 82 points. In the other four games, they scored between 86 and 103. Neither Türk Telekom nor Karsiyaka scored more than 80 points in Istanbul.

Fenerbahce

Fener in the early stages of the playoffs also did not lose and did not score less than 86 points away. They lost Guduric last week, so there's no one to replace Calathes now (out of the internationals) - Hayes-Davies, Pierre, Papayannis and Wilbekin are untouchable.

The problem of overloading the frontcourt numbers, in our opinion, looks more acute for Efes. Shane Larkin (who is now the team's point guard) is playing some unbelievable minutes, and no one has relieved him of his scoring duties. 

In the domestic league, Fener lost both games to Efes. In the Euroleague, the rivals exchanged away wins. Efes didn't always hit 83.5, but they hit 79.5 four out of five times. Fener did it all five times.

So, Fener has lost its last two games to Efes, as well as both Super League games. Winning streaks are commonplace between the two Turkish grands, so we are leaning toward a win for the home team. Well, draws in such matches are very rare.
