Minnesota Timberwolves vs Detroit Pistons Prediction: Wolves likely to win big

The NBA Regular Season has been going on and this has been a spectacular season that has brought us a ton of memorable moments, including an incredible 60 points, 21 rebounds, and 10 assists outburst by Luka Doncic, a record triple-double. But things haven’t been memorable for more than a handful of squads. One of those squads, the Detroit Pistons is going to take on the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Minnesota Timberwolves

The Timberwolves enter the game after losing 114:123 against the Milwaukee Bucks despite a 30 points and 10 rebounds outing by Anthony Edwards. This was the fifth straight loss for Minnesota which frankly had a tough schedule, playing Celtics, Heat, Pels, and Bucks, away from home while losing to the Mavs at home. The Wolves have been playing without their leader Karl Anthony-Towns which has decimated them but their performance wasn’t all that impressive even when he was active, because of that, the Wolves have 20 losses and just 16 wins.

The defense hasn’t been the strong suit of the Wolves squad and that has been the problem since last season. Offensively, Edwards has scored mostly in the 27-30 points range lately but that hasn’t been enough as D’Angelo Russell has been way too inconsistent. The lack of depth in absence of Karl Anthony-Towns has been apparent which means that the team needs some quick fixes. Naz Reid has had a ton of amazing games too but the overall effort for the Wolves has been missing as a team. The Timberwolves need a huge boost in multiple areas to improve further.

Detroit Pistons

The Pistons march into this affair after losing 118:132 against the Chicago Bulls despite a 22 points outing by rookie Jaden Ivey. This was Detroit’s seventh loss in eight games so their rebuild continues to be painful. They are posting another season with less than 30% wins and have lost 29 and won just nine games. They were projected to struggle and their woes have been extended because of Cade Cunningham’s absence which hits the squad on both ends. Players like Saddiq Bey, Killian Hayes, and Isaiah Stewart will soon need to win more so that their confidence doesn’t get hit in the long run.

The most consistent player for the team has been veteran Wing Bojan Bogdanovic whose major production has crossed 20+ points repeatedly. Jaden Ivey has made some impressions but he has a long river to cross. Perhaps the brightest aspect of the team has come from their Center Jalen Duren, a rookie, who has the potential to become a double-double threat on a nightly basis. Overall, this has been a long and hard road for Detroit and things may take a lot of time to get on track.
