The NCAA March Madness is about to get done with the Second Round and in this highly accumulating window, we have witnessed some incredible battles. So far, the pendulum is continuing to swing in favor of top-ranked squads as per the AP Poll. Will the pendulum swing in favor of Florida as they tackle underdogs Farleigh Dickinson Knights?
Florida Atlantic Owls
Florida Atlantic Owls come into the game after a thrilling and controversial 66-65 against Memphis Tigers. Nicholas Boyd hit a lay-up with around two seconds left to seal the deal for the Owls. It was a controversial finish because Memphis had called for a timeout around the five-second mark but it was deemed a jump ball in a heavy scramble for a loose ball. Giancarlo Rosado led the scoring off-the-bench, nailing 15 points. They got hold of 18 offensive rebounds which helped them overcome the 38.5% field goal a bit. Florida made two more long-range shots than Farleigh.
Farleigh Dickinson Knights
Farleigh pulled off a big upset, defeating Purdue 63:58 on the heels of a fantastic 19 points performance by Sean Moore. This was perhaps the biggest win in the college program’s history. Farleigh shot below 39% from the field. Farleigh did a great job of collecting 11 steals and this helped them overcome some shoddy shooting as they managed a mere 38.7% from the field. Their three-point defense was also superb and they held Purdue to just 19.2% from long-range and below 36% from the field overall. Truly, their defense once again came to the rescue.
Expert Betting Tips
Is it fair to rate Farleigh so low after they pulled off a heist? You may never know. Florida Atlantic Owls have their work cut out too and they will have to play better on the offensive end than they did last game.
