Germany vs Denmark Prediction: The host nation has an easy task to deal with

Game 2 of the knockout stage games in the Euro 2024 will see the host nation, Germany, take on Denmark in Dortmund at the Signal Iduna Park. Heading into this game, the two teams are coming off an unbeaten run of games and will feel confident of making it to the quarterfinals. Which team gets things right?

Germany

Germany has shown character as a team since the start of Euro 2024, and the host will look to keep things running. On the opening day, Germany thrashed Scotland 5-1 before a 2-0 win over Hungary in game 2. 

However, their final group encounter against Switzerland was a tough one as Robert Andrich's goal from outside the box was disallowed before a 28th minute Dan Ndoye’s goal put the Swiss in the lead. However, Germany needed a Niclas Fullkrug 92nd-minute strike to avoid finishing below Switzerland in the Group A standings. 

Heading into this knockout encounter, Germany boasts of an unbeaten run of seven matches, where they won five games. However, this team scored 14 times in that run while conceding four goals. 

Denmark

Denmark went without a win in their group-stage games, and in this fixture, they definitely know they have to step up. Entering this Euro 2024, Denmark won three consecutive matches against Faroe Islands, Sweden, and Norway, where they scored seven goals and conceded two. 

However, things did not go too well for Denmark since the start of the Euro, but they have done well to avoid a defeat in each of their encounters. In their opener, Denmark played Slovenia, and they saw a first-half early lead being turned into a draw in the 77th minute of the game. However, this team did well to hold England to a 1-1 draw thanks to Morten Hjulmand’s equalizer but then settled for a goalless draw with Serbia.
