David Benavidez vs Anthony Yarde: Prediction and odds on the Match on 22 November, 2025

Benavidez will defend his title for the first time since Dmitry Bivol gave it up and he became the interim champion. He has fought two light heavyweights and won both times, against Oleksandr Gvozdyk and David Morrell Jr. People know that Anthony Yarde gets tired in the second half of fights. Because of this, we think Benavidez will use his longer reach to control the distance and wear Yarde down before stopping him. The fight will happen in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, at the ANB Arena. With the help and money of Turki Alalshikh, Saudi Arabia's minister of entertainment, Riyadh is quickly becoming a top place to fight. Who will win? Benavidez won the WBC super middleweight title in 2017, defended it twice, and then lost it for not making weight. He came back in 2020 by beating Roamer Alexis Angulo. He won the interim WBC title in 2022 by knocking out David Lemieux in three rounds. Before moving up to light heavyweight, he defended the title against Caleb Plant and Demetrius Andrade. He won the interim light heavyweight title in June of last year by beating Oleksandr Gvozdyk by points. Benavidez defended his interim title in February against David Morrell, winning by points even though he was knocked down in the second-to-last round. He became the full champion later that year. He started on the road to the title by beating Ronald Gavril in a split decision, and then he beat him again the next year. But after he failed a drug test, he lost the title. Benavidez came back in 2019 and knocked out J'Leon Love in the second round. He then won the title back in September by knocking out Anthony Dirrell in the ninth round. Benavidez lost the title again for missing weight in a win over Roamer Alexis Angulo, but he kept moving up by stopping Ronald Ellis in the 11th and Kryone Davis in the 7th. He won the interim WBC title again by stopping David Lemieux in the third round.

Benavidez won the interim WBC title by unanimous decision over Oleksandr Gvozdyk when he moved up to light heavyweight. He kept the title by beating David Morrell by points, and then he was promoted to full champion.

Anthony Yarde is a seasoned light-heavyweight contender with a record of 27-3 (24 KOs). He turned professional in May 2015 and quickly made his mark, earning European title contention with a series of stoppage wins. He claimed the European title in July 2017 by knocking out Richard Baranyi in the first round. He defended the title successfully several times, pushing him into world title contention. At 34, Yarde's big world title opportunity came, but he was knocked out by Sergey Kovalev in the 11th round. He bounced back with a second-round knockout of Diego Jair Ramirez and a sixth-round stoppage of Dec Spelman. However, he then lost a split decision to Lydon Arthur for the Commonwealth title. Yarde didn't stay down for long. He scored a first-round knockout over Alex Theran and later avenged his loss to Arthur with a dominant fourth-round stoppage. He earned another world title shot after stopping Stefani Koykov in the third round but lost again, this time to Artur Beterbiev by knockout in the eighth. Since that defeat, Yarde has been on a winning streak. He knocked out Jorge Silva in the second round, Marko Nikolic in the third, and won a points decision over Ralfs Vilcans.

Anthony Yarde is dangerous with his power, but he has struggled on the biggest stages. He’s been stopped in both of those major fights.

  • David “The Mexican Monster” Benavidez has proven he can beat the best. He’s climbing the pound-for-pound rankings and looks set to become the next big superstar. He is undefeated in 30 professional fights, with 24 of those wins by knockout.
  • On the other hand, Anthony Yarde has been knocked out twice in his career. Both of those defeats came in the later rounds, between rounds 7 and 12.
  • This year, Yarde won four straight fights, including a unanimous decision in his trilogy match against Arthur. He also had a world title shot against Beterbiev but was stopped in the eighth round, marking his third loss. Since then, Yarde has bounced back with four consecutive wins.

Benavidez and Yarde are both powerful punchers who’ve gone the distance in their last two fights. Benavidez brings a lot of energy and aggression, while Yarde uses speed and power. While Gvozdyk, Demetrius Andrade, Caleb Plant, and possibly Morrell are considered better boxers than Benavidez, he always makes sure to throw enough punches to win. Yarde will put up a strong fight, but he won’t be able to withstand Benavidez’s pressure late in the fight. Benavidez is likely to score a TKO between rounds 8 and 10. David Benavidez is expected to keep the WBC light heavyweight title by knockout. As a big puncher, he’ll wear Yarde down and finish him in the later rounds.
