Payne won his first World Championship in 2017 after qualifying through the Pro Tour Order of Merit. He beat Terry Jenkins in the first set. He fell behind 2–1 and missed one dart to tie the match, eventually losing 3–1.

Payne lost his tour card at the end of the 2021 season and had to requalify through the PDC Q school. In his effort, he was unsuccessful, winning only one point, which was insufficient to earn him a two-year tour card.

Payne won his first PDC Challenge Tour championship in 2013, defeating Rowby-John Rodriguez 4–3 in the final. He also qualified for the Gibraltar Darts Trophy, where he overcame Wayne Jones 6–2, only to lose 6–1 to Dave Chisnall in the second round despite averaging 100.50.

Osborne has two PDC Pro Tour victories to his credit and two flawless nine-dart finishes in 2005. The first occurred at the Players Championship on the Isle of Wight, while the second occurred during the non-televised qualifying rounds for the 2005 World Matchplay.

In 2010, Osborne advanced to the Players Championship Finals semi-finals before falling to King. Osborne lost his opening group match at the Grand Slam of Darts against Robert Thornton before overcoming Whitlock and Dave Chisnall to go to the knockout stages. Gary Anderson beat him 10–3 in the round of 16. He then advanced to the third round of the 2011 World Championship, when he was 3–2 up over van Barneveld before falling 4–3.

He hasn’t played in a darts event since March.
